By starting operations at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE), Allegiant Air Cleveland took a calculated decision to capitalise on Northeast Ohio's high demand for inexpensive leisure travel. Known for providing low-cost, basic flights, the airline added a number of direct connections to warm-weather locations, making it easier for Clevelanders to visit their preferred vacation sites. Allegiant's strategy of catering to mid-sized locations with little competition and a strong demand for point-to-point travel was in line with this expansion.
