Daren Tang Nominated by Coordination Committee for Second Term as WIPO Director General

The WIPO Coordination Committee has recommended Director General Daren Tang for a second six-year term after he secured 81 of 83 votes in Geneva. The decision reflects strong international support for his leadership and policy direction. Final approval will occur in April 2026 through WIPO’s governing assemblies. If ratified, his new mandate will run from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2032, continuing ongoing intellectual property initiatives worldwide.
